Backstage Ballerina
Early one morning, I envisioned a young ballerina experienceing the joy of being backstage before her performance. My thoughts became words, words turned into poetry, and I wrote this book.
As I reflect with a smile, I think of all the young ballerinas I’ve taught over the years. I was always captivated by their excitement, anticipation, and jitters before the curtains opened. The moment-to-moment activity that transpires before a performance . . . is a performance of its own.
